Faith-Based Addiction Treatment in New Jersey

The substance abuse problem in New Jersey is overwhelming and well-documented.[1] The people of New Jersey are suffering from overdoses, addiction, and a host of other mental health issues. If you are among those struggling, then finding the right drug treatment facility is one of the most important decisions you can make to help you and your family navigate this crisis.

Those whose faith is an important part of their identity may feel alienated or not fully satisfied by a traditional drug treatment program. While there are many clinical tools available, traditional treatment centers do not offer the spiritual component of recovery. They fail to address the fundamental questions of who you are, what your purpose is in life, whether you will be forgiven, or how to have a relationship with God. At Christian rehabilitation centers in New Jersey, you will find both clinical and spiritual assistance at a facility where treatment is based on evidence-based methods and Biblical principles.

Our All In Solutions New Jersey facility is available to those seeking faith-based addiction recovery through evidence-based treatment approaches. Our accredited Cherry Hill facility is licensed by the State of New Jersey and provides a full range of partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) addiction recovery programs in a faith-based treatment environment.

What Is Faith-Based Rehab?

Faith-based treatment in New Jersey incorporates the principles, practices, and community support of the Christian faith into the clinical recovery process. The overarching concept behind authentic faith-based rehabilitation is that addiction affects every aspect of a person’s life and involves all levels of recovery, including physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Faith-based rehabilitation centers provide faith-based clinical treatment as well as Biblically based outreach programs such as Bible studies, seminars, spiritual counseling, and faith-based support group meetings.

Clients will receive clinical treatment as well as treatment that addresses their spiritual beliefs and healing, facilitated by a spiritual counselor working alongside a clinical counselor. Together they ensure clients receive all clinically based tools for recovery and all spiritually based tools for recovery to facilitate lasting, positive changes in their lives.

Well-established Christian rehabilitation centers in New Jersey do not require you to choose between faith and science. Instead, they combine both into one system that treats the whole person with a complete approach to recovery.

What to Expect From Christian Rehab at All In Solutions, Cherry Hill

Our program was developed by ordained ministers and experts within addiction and recovery to ensure that the requirements of Christian patients are met. Our New Jersey faith-based program is a distinctive and life-changing Christian rehabilitation program for addiction that will assist you in reestablishing your relationship with God and gaining long-term independence from alcohol and drugs.

Under the guidance of Pastor Max Ingram, the New Jersey faith-based drug and alcohol recovery program embraces a comprehensive treatment approach based on the bio/psycho/social/spiritual model of addiction treatment. Pastor Max brings over two decades of experience in recovery, as well as ministry to All In Solutions. He is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance.

Pastor Max has dedicated his primary focus to the ministry of members of the addiction-recovery community, both at All In Solutions and through the Recovery Church Movement. Pastor Max lives in the South Jersey town of Marlton, NJ, just outside Philadelphia, and has been married to Jill for over 20 years. They have three children, Lily, Max III, and Bradley.

Pastor Max brings a blend of experience of recovery and faith that he uses to help encourage people in their recovery journey, as well as help them explore their higher power and develop their faith. He has the ability to simplify these complex topics and explain how recovery and faith can complement one another in a powerful way. Pastor Max focuses on sharing hope, love, forgiveness, overcoming guilt and shame, and ultimately helps individuals experience personal spiritual awakening. This same energy and knowledge will be brought to All In Solutions’ clients in the group setting.

Licensed and Accredited Care

All In Solutions’ Cherry Hill location is licensed by the State of New Jersey and meets rigorous standards for clinical care, patient safety, and ethical practice. When looking at faith-based rehabilitation centers in New Jersey, it is extremely important to consider their licensing and accreditation status, as both provide independent validation of clinical standards of care regardless of the program’s religious orientation.

Spiritual Counseling and Programming

Bible studies, spiritual counseling, and activities centered on the Christian faith are a part of treatment at our New Jersey location. They are important parts of the clinical experience and are led by counselors who have both an understanding of the addiction process and are grounded in their Christian faith. Clients engage with the Bible, pray, and reflect spiritually on their recovery work — these are not afterthoughts.

Co-occurring mental health conditions are assessed and treated throughout the course of treatment. Accepting that your struggles are not a failure is essential. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other co-occurring diagnoses are common alongside drug and alcohol addiction, and addressing them within the same treatment plan produces significantly better outcomes than treating them separately or sequentially.[2]

One form of therapy that may appeal to Christians in recovery is religiously-integrated cognitive behavioral therapy (RCBT). RCBT is a combination of conventional cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and spiritual practices to achieve complete healing. The practice of religiously integrated cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the same basic principles as conventional CBT. However, religiously-integrated CBT also inspires and applies a client’s own religious tradition as a major coping skill for replacing unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. It can result in a reduction of depression symptoms.

How Christian Rehab Supports Long-Term Recovery

Research shows that integrating spirituality into the recovery process produces better long-term outcomes than a clinical treatment approach alone.[3] People who have connected with a higher power, participated in 12-step or other faith-based support programs, and maintained a relationship with a faith community are more likely to maintain their sobriety, report better mental health, and find meaning and purpose in their recovery.

Faith provides a person with the ability to address the root cause of their addiction more directly than can be achieved through a clinical approach alone. Long-term substance use creates shame, disconnection, and a damaged sense of self, injuries that are spiritual as well as psychological. Bible study and scripture provide a person with the ability to understand who they are and who they may become, independent of their past. Prayer and connection with God provide additional resources to cope with cravings and the stress of everyday life, enhancing the clinical resources received while engaged in therapy.

A holistic approach to addiction recovery that values and incorporates faith is not an alternative to evidence-based treatment; rather, it is an extension of it.
